One week from this minute we will be boarding the first of three planes that will begin our 24 hour journey to Italy.
I have never flown internationally and am a little antsy about the length of the flights and time being sedentary. I am praying that I can sleep on the plane some. I have never been able to sleep on a plane in the past. My husband is lulled to sleep as soon as the engines crank – lucky man!
I know that to prevent jet-lag, I should try to adjust to the time change before we go. Since Italy is 6 hours ahead of us, I am going to try going to bed thirty minutes earlier every night between now and then. Hopefully, a week from now I will be ready for the time zone transition. I don’t want to miss a moment because I was too tired to be present.
I have invested in a black-out mask and ear plugs. I have my travel pillow and my compression socks. I am the quintessential American tourist. All I am lacking is the funds to upgrade to Delta One. If you are not familiar, check it out! That’s the way to travel!!!
7 days to go!
