So often I find myself looking at my daughter and thinking “she is too young to understand” or “she has not developed that level of maturity yet.” But, more often than not, when I begin to think along those lines, she shocks me with her strength, character, and wisdom. She is living a life of faith inspite of it being against “the norm.”
I could not be more proud of the young woman she is becoming. She has stepped into a leadership role within our church community. Her desire to help younger members of the youth group and create a sense of fellowship among the members of the high school youth group inspires me regularly.
And her inspiration goes beyond her faith. She aspires to be a child psychologist and help children who have been through terrible situations. To be their advocate and help them find their voices.
I cannot imagine supporting someone through those extremes of pain and suffering. I am too emotional and empathetic. I get caught up in the suffering.
She is a rock and can separate herself from a situation enough to see a solution. She is AMAZING! And I am so proud to be a part of her life! Thank you Bug! ❤
O Lord of all the upward road, keep strong our youth, we pray;
May age and youth together seek to follow in Thy way. -Niedermeyer
